Intrusion Minigame

minigame1

This plays something like the recent hit ‘Plants vs Zombies’ when you’re playing zombie mode.

This is a tower-defense-like game, only you play attacking ‘bugs’.
The game will be played real time with the timer bar counting down as soon as the game loads up.
You will be given some ‘Intrusion Bugs’. The quantity of each type can be decided randomly on top of difficulty or other factors.
Each bug is of different strength. They could be fast or could be strong (tanks).

The bugs can be placed in different lanes and they’ll crawl towards the defences.
You can place your bugs (those that you are allocated) at any time during the game at the position you want and they’ll start their work (crawling) immediately.
Each lane will have a different set of opposing security defences.
These defences will shoot at your bugs in the lane.
Strong bugs can take more shots, while fast bugs are more susceptible to damage.
The first bug in the lane will block the shots from the other bugs.
Timing is important! Time your bugs so that they ‘cover’ for each other.

When the bugs reach the defence, they’ll destroy it (infect it and destroy it).
When they reach the end of the lane, they conquer that lane.
When all lanes are conquered you win.
When the timebar(haven’t decided whether its a good idea) expires or you use up all your bugs, you die.

What makes it replayable is variety and a sense of achievement. Its more puzzle like then action and you’ll find yourself trying to gauge distances to see whether your bugs will survive the rain of shots from the defences.
Different bots might have different systems. e.g. less lanes, different defences, etc.
